Sortemosehus is a former forest ranger’s house from 1893, located in Arden at the southern entrance to Rold Skov.

Sortemosehus was converted into a Nature Center and Hærvejsherberg in 2025.

You can stay overnight at Sortemosehus in both shelters, in hostel rooms and in tents.

There are three shelters on the site. Two regular shelters for 4 people and a handicap- and family-friendly shelter with a waist-lift for 4-5 people.

When you book an overnight stay, you will receive a code for the toilet and shower in your email before your arrival.
