Østerskaarup Gård – Arla® ØKO Shelter

Welcome to Arla® ØKO Shelters

This shelter site, located at Østerskaarup Gård, is situated in the beautiful nature around Thisted. Mathias and his family own Østerskaarup Gård, which they took over in 2019. The farm has 200 organic dairy cows that graze outside in the summer.

Thisted is a market town and port city by the Limfjord with 13,534 inhabitants, located in Thy. The town is the center of Thisted Municipality, which is part of the North Jutland Region. The area around the farm is called Nors, and west of the shelter, you will find Nors Lake.

The Arla® ØKO shelter site is fully equipped with a shelter, benches, and a fire pit. All you need to bring is your sleeping bag, firewood, and curiosity about nature.

Close to the Arla® ØKO shelter, there is a parking lot, and from there the field leads to the shelter. It is approximately 50 meters from the parking lot through slightly hilly terrain.

• Toilet: No, the nearest toilet is 3 km by car or 1.5 km on foot at Vilsø Lille Lejrplads.
• Tables & benches: Yes, there is room for 4 people.
• Fire pit: Yes, but you must bring your own firewood.
• Tents: No, setting up tents is not allowed.

Rules for using the shelter site:

• Remember to extinguish the fire.
• Use the trash bin.
• Keep the shelter site clean and tidy.
• Avoid unnecessary noise.
• No music is allowed.
• Animals are welcome, but they must be kept on a leash.
• Do not feed or scare the animals.
