Little Søbygård

The shelter is private and located just outside Søby, in the scenic area close to Søbygård, with a view down to the lake and the moat surrounding Søbygård. Here you can fall asleep to the croaking of frogs and wake up to the morning song of birds.

Both the Øhavsstien and Herregårdsruten trails pass right by the shelter.

The shelter can accommodate 4 adults comfortably and is equipped with doors with mosquito nets. The site features a fire pit, a table with benches, access to water, a public toilet 200 meters away, and the option to purchase firewood.

There’s a box at the shelter where you can lock your backpack and other belongings. You can then hop on the bus, which runs once an hour and is free of charge (bus stop approximately 300 meters away). The buses go to Søby, Ærøskøbing, and Marstal, where there are plenty of shopping options, various restaurants, and cafes.

In the nearby area, there are also many experiences to be had. Take a walk on the trail around the lake and up to Vester Mølle, where you can enjoy a view of Vitsø and the sea. At Søbygård, you’ll find attractions such as the Geopark Visitor Center and “Kys Frøen” (Kiss the Frog), along with a small café. From July to mid-August, there are classical concerts every Wednesday (https://soebygaardsvenner.dk/).
